Hello Christ Lutheran families!
My name is Sarah Noch, and I am delighted to be the head of the middle school history department here at CLS, as well as the 8th grade homeroom and algebra teacher. I am blessed with the opportunity to guide students through their final year at Christ Lutheran, which includes a class trip to Washington D.C./Virginia every May! The trip is undeniably the highlight of the 8th grade year, and I love seeing the students grow in both their independence and in their understanding of our country and its origins. (I also love geeking out over all the cool historical things we get to see on our trip.) Eighth grade is an awesome but very busy and challenging year, and I work hard to make sure that all graduates are prepared to enter into high school!
I graduated from Azusa Pacific University (class of 2013) with a major in education and a minor in history, and then attended San Diego State University where I acquired my multiple-subject teaching credential and completed my clear credential. I have worked with students of all ages and needs, and for many years worked as a reading intervention teacher for students with special needs. Before I came to Christ Lutheran, I worked for Torrance Unified in a first-grade classroom.
I am an avid reader, a major dog person, and love outdoor things like hiking, running, or going to the beach. I also love to travel, and have been to 15 countries so far (hoping to hit 17 by the end of next year). Most of my students are also well aware of my obsession with coffee. :)
I look forward to an amazing school year!
