Dear Christ Lutheran Family,
During these difficult times, it has been amazing to see the love and care we have shown for one another in Christ. Now, we have an opportunity to share that love and care with others in our community.
That is why we are partnering with Lutheran Social Services to provide for those in need throughout the South Bay. Because of the impact of Covid-19, Lutheran Social Services has experienced a 47% decrease in donations of non-perishable food and household items. At the same time, they have experienced a nearly 50% increase in new people looking for help.
This is where we, Christ Lutheran come in. We will be collecting non-perishable and easy to open cans, bottled water, shelf stable milk, peanut butter, canned proteins, cup of noodles, instant mac and cheese, pop tarts, cereal, and other non-perishable food and drink items.
We will have collection barrels on the sidewalk outside of Room 101 for you to drop off any non-perishable food and drink items. Days and times for drop off will be;
- Monday, June 1st from 9am-3pm
- Thursday June 4th from 5:30pm-7:30pm
- Friday, June 5th from 9am-3pm
- June 8th-10th from 9am-3pm
- Thursday June 11th from 5:30pm-7:30pm
We also have a Slam Dunk Hunger PayPal account for donations. Monies received will be used to buy non-perishable food and drink items. Please click the donate button on our school website to donate any amount.
Our goal is to collect 1,000lbs of non-perishable food and drink items to give to those in need in our community. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for Christ Lutheran as we continue to share the faith and love we have in Christ and love and care we have for others!
