Boys Soccer Coach- Coach Tony
Hi, my name is Tony and I am excited to become Christ Lutheran’s new soccer coach! I’ve had 2 kids attending Christ Lutheran School. I played soccer my entire life starting with AYSO, and later I joined a few different club teams. I continued through high school and then a few years as an adult. One of the highlights from my childhood soccer career was winning the AYSO National Games. I started coaching when my son, was just starting to play soccer and I have continued ever since. I have coached 12 different boy’s and girl’s teams. As a coach, I have 3 top priorities: have fun, come together as a team, and improve individual skills. I believe with a focus on these 3 things a team is more likely to be successful. I get great joy out of teaching young people the game that I love and grew up playing. I am looking forward to coaching the Christ Lutheran Chargers!
Girls Volleyball Coach- Coach Ensley
Ensley has been part of our partnership with Fellowship of Christian Athletes and led a co-ed volleyball summer camp for us this past summer. The campers just loved Ensley who brings personal passion to the game, patience for the player and a heart for ministry that shines through her coaching. We are so pleased she is coming on board as our Girls Volleyball coach this year! She brings experience from her years of college volleyball as well as experience as a volleyball coach through FCA. Please welcome Coach Ensley to the Chargers Team!
The youngest of five children, I was homeschooled through high school before beginning studies at El Camino College this past fall. In middle school, I played basketball at the YMCA and attended summer youth volleyball camps taught by Don Bareford, the head coach at Pacific Lutheran High School. After playing basketball my first two years of high school, I switched over to volleyball as a sophomore and have not looked back. God blessed me with excellent role models and mentors who helped me discover a passion and love for volleyball, as well as develop my character and leadership skills. As a senior, I was honored with the Most Valuable Player award for the Mulholland League as our team earned the league championship trophy in addition to a first-round victory in the CIF Playoffs. More than that, though, I enjoyed the privilege of being the team captain and leader of the Pacific Lutheran Stingrays as I had the responsibility to challenge and exhort my teammates.
Hello, I'm Shannon de Mos and am very excited to be coaching the CLS Girls Basketball Team this season! I grew up in Redondo Beach and played basketball and cheered throughout my years in school. My passion for playing sports started early in life. I grew up with 4 brothers in a house where sports were always on the television. I believe playing sports helps you to get the best out of yourself. I coached a co-ed youth league for SBJA in Torrance in 2014 and realized that I loved coaching kids! I am looking forward to having a great fun season and am so happy to have the opportunity to coach these wonderful young ladies. Go Chargers!
